Sophos partners with Openfind to protect over 35,000 email subscribers from virus attacks
SAV Interface secures Openfind's Mail2000 service on its FreeBSD network
Taipei, Taiwan - Sophos, a world leader in anti-virus protection for businesses, announced today that Openfind Information Technology Inc, a leading Enterprise Portal Technology Provider in Taiwan, has integrated Sophos's SAV Interface on its FreeBSD network running Mail2000 to protect all its subscribers against email virus, worm and Trojan incidents.
Openfind's 35,000 paid subscribers use its Mail2000 system to send and receive emails. To ensure a virus-free environment, Openfind has implemented Sophos's robust virus protection.
"We wanted to give our subscribers higher quality service by ensuring that our email servers are virus-free," said Ivan Liao, vice president of business development at Openfind Information Technology Inc. "Having assessed several anti-virus solutions, we decided to deploy SAV Interface on our FreeBSD network. Unlike the other products we evaluated, SAV Interface provided high performance and offered an attractive Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)."
Openfind hopes to offer this new anti-virus solution by licensing it to other enterprises, telecommunications operators and government departments in Taiwan. Openfind is presently the leading developer of "search engines" for many portals in Taiwan.

SAV Interface provides a powerful way to build Sophos's virus detection into any application.
