Sophos Anti-Virus for Linux: product retirement
In summer 2007, all installations of Sophos
- Red Hat Linux 7.2
- Red Hat Linux 8.0
- Red Hat Enterprise Workstation 2.1
- SuSE Linux 7.2
- SuSE Linux 8.0
- SUSE Linux Professional 9.0
- TurboLinux 8 Server
- TurboLinux Enterprise Server 8
All other supported platforms will be able to upgrade to Sophos
What to do
Where possible, upgrade to a supported Linux platform to retain on-access scanning.
Otherwise, do one of the following:
- custom compile Talpa, and use Sophos
Anti-Virus for Linux version 6 with 'reasonable endeavors' support - use the Sophos
Anti-Virus for Linux version 6 'savscan' on-demand scanner only - revert to using Sophos
Anti-Virus for UNIX/Linux version 4.xx.
